A few of Chef Butters favourite ‘Okanagan’ things

This holiday season, Chef Rod Butters of RauDZ Regional Table and micro bar • bites has assembled a one-of-a-kind gift bowl for the foodies on your Christmas list.
Butters has handmade and hand selected his ‘favourite Okanagan things’ to make your holiday season fresh, local and very comfortable.  Every bottle, jar, and condiment stuffed into the beautiful handcrafted pottery bowl has been tasted, sniffed and experimented for inclusion on his ‘2014 holiday favourites’ list.
Who doesn’t love pancakes? Chef Butters has shared his ‘almost’ World Famous Pancake’ recipe that will make your Christmas morning easy and delicious.  This recipe was actually crafted by Butters when he was seven years old and has had a few ‘re-writes’ in the years since, but the basics remain the same.  Topped with Okanagan fruit and a sprinkle of his equally famous ‘Peach & Cinnamon Sugar’ (which is also enclosed), breakfast has never tasted so good.  Pancakes and a pot of RauDZ Roast Coffee from local, artisan style coffee roasters Bean Scene make the perfect pairing.
Watching holiday movies in your new Christmas pajamas is a tradition in many homes.  Chef Butters has included his ‘Okanagan Spice Seasoning’, a mix of smoked peppers, chilis, mustard, coriander, cumin and sea salt in the bowl – sprinkled over warm popcorn, you’ll never have plain popcorn again.
If you’ve ever spent anytime sitting at the bar at RauDZ Regional Table you’ve seen, and tasted the creativity of the Liquid Chefs.  Tucked into the bowl is a recipe for one of their popular cocktails the ‘Bees Knees.’  Along with a mini bottle of Okanagan Spirits Gin and Chef Butters’ Lavender Honey made from honey from Arlo’s Farm infused with lavender from Okanagan Lavender you can get your cocktail hour started.  For those who prefer beer, Chef has added a can of Vertical Winter Ale from Tree Brewing.
A bottle of Blackberry Ketchup made from local organic blackberries and tomatoes, and handcrafted Chocolate Bark chock full of Okanagan dried fruits were handmade by Chef and his team exclusively for the holiday season.
To further satisfy your holiday sweet tooth, five of the signature RauDZ Regional Table lollipops are added to the bowl to create an overflowing culinary treat.
Celebrating the one-year anniversary of their newest downtown space, micro bar • bites, Chef has also tucked in a gift card to welcome and thank their customers for their support of their tapas bar.
Looking ahead to 2015 is teaser card about the next adventure for Chef Butters - an opportunity to join him on a culinary tour of Monte Carlo along the famed French Riviera, Spain, Portugal and the Rock of Gibraltar, United Kingdom on a cruise with Crystal Cruises and Uniglobe Direct Travel.
These ‘favourite things’ gift bowls are available exclusively at RauDZ Regional Table and micro bar • bites for $70 and can be purchased while quantities last.  Gift Certificates, in any denomination are also available at both locations.
